Forth Diver Training is an open and friendly diving club that welcomes anyone who has an interest in the sport of scuba diving.


Our members come from all backgrounds and walks of life and whether you're interested in recreational or technical diving, marine life or deep wrecks we all share a common interest and passion for our sport. 


Above all, we put safety first in everything we do. We plan our dives and dive our plans, every time.


About Us


Location and Activities
Our club is registered in Dunfermline and we have access to sheltered water training facilities at Preston Hill quarry near Inverkeithing and also the pool at Inverkeithing High School. The club is not currently active due to on-going uncertaintly over the future of Preston Hill quarry. Once the future of Preston Hill quarry has been established the Trustees will review its operations and advise members accordingly.

We are based in Scotland and are incorporated as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). The full name of the club is Forth Diver Training SCIO and our charity number is SC046681. Our Constitution is available for download here.



Our club is run by divers for divers and as required by the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 we have a Board of Trustees made up of club members. The Board of Trustees is elected each year at our Annual General Meeting.

















During training your equipment is included in the cost of the course but we do encourage you to try to purchase your own equipment as soon as possible after you have qualified.


Membership - Medical Fitness
Although membership of the club is open to everyone regardless of their medical history we do need you to be medically fit in order to come diving with us. Medical fitness is determined on a self-certification basis according to the prevailing standards set out by PADI. When applying for membership you will need to complete a PADI Medical Statement document which can be downloaded from the Application Forms section, below.

Membership - Data Protection

Forth Diver Training SCIO is a not-for-profit organisation and as such is exempt from registration with the Information Commissioner's Office. Notwithstanding the exemption any personal information you give to us will be processed in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 1998. Forth Diver Training will use the information provided in the forms above to process your membership application and also to provide you with any relevant further information pertaining to the activities of the club.

Membership - Costs
The annual membership fee for the club is currently £30, which is payable yearly in advance. The cost for our PADI training courses are indicated in our Price List. The fees include all tutition, equipment hire as well as PADI certification.


Prospective members should note that the club is currently inactive pending a decision on the future of Preston Hill quarry.


Club equipment is available for hire outwith the training courses and the costs are listed in our Price List.


Our training days at the quarry are free of charge but there is a small charge, currently £8, for any training carried out at the pool.
